SFX: Pain Touch. Add D6 to your Action pool and step up your effect die when using your SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH to inflict Physical Stress on an opponent.
Voice of Authority: When issuing orders to someone under your command, you may spend D6 from the Doom Pool to recover their Emotional or Mental Stress OR if they are a mob, you may recover one TEAM die instead.

DESIGN NOTES
As with the Chitauri goons, I had to be a little creative in creating him. I blended aspects of both the Kree and the Skrulls. (Important since the MCU Chitauri lack the Skrulls' shapeshifting ability.) I then layered most of the Commander template from the Annihilation event to finish him up.

POSTSCRIPT
I'd forgotten that my Event called for The Other to have in his possession the Mind-Gem Staff. I based it on the Marvel Plot Points Write-Up Here. I slightly tweaked it to fit its narrative use in the film and to slightly weaken its impact in the particular Scene. 'Nuff Said!

Here are some Watcher files I've made up for the unnamed menace known as the Chitauri!

CHITAURI TROOPERS (Cost D8)

Distinctions: Bio-Mechanical; Hive Mind

DESIGN NOTES

Since these are "extras," I leaned on the Mob datafile from the prison break scene in the Breakout event located in the Basic Game book. I added on some minor powers to reflect the bio-mechanical nature of the Chitauri and made sure to give them the AREA ATTACK SFX. For the Chitauri Hero, I gave him more autonomy than the goons and upgraded him to be a minor villain. 'Nuff Said!

DESIGN NOTES
I had really thought that Scott Lang as Ant-Man was in the Civil War Event as a Hero Datafile. But I was wrong. It was Eric O'Grady and as a Watcher file. I based this datafile on the existing one for his daughter Stature from Civil War: Young Avengers / Runaways with some modifications from the O'Grady datafile and the existing ones for the various Ant-Men found at marvelheroicrp.fandom.com. One change that I incorporated from the MCU was the EXHAUSTION LIMIT for his NOW I'M BIG power set. 'Nuff Said!

Each of you finds yourself suddenly transported here. One moment you were in your normal place and time, leading your normal life. And the next moment, you are here. Where is here? The Watcher’s Citadel on the Blue Area of the Moon. In front of you is a truly giant figure, Uatu the Watcher. He speaks:

Sometimes in the due course of the manifold unfolding of the Marvel Multiverse, there comes a threat so great, so dire to its very existence that something must be done. And that moment has arrived now, at this very instant.


On one earth of many, there has emerged a pivotal battle on one New York City on one of many possible Earths. And on this Earth, this New York City, on this precious reality, the Avengers are discovered missing. Against the very knowledge of my Brothers, I have assembled you as a team to replace them so that you can restore balance to the necessary order of the very multiverse itself. 


Do you have any questions for me before we begin? Make it brief, since our time is so very short and the consequences for your failure so very grave.

The Watcher will answer any questions they may ask. If they try to act against him in any way, he will wave his hand and they will be instantly transported instantly into the Battle for New York City in-progress. Otherwise, he will do so when they are satisfied that they are ready.


ACTION SCENE: MIDTOWN MANHATTAN

Limit: Tippy-Toe, NO! MASS OF FUR AND TEETH dice may be targeted individually or by an Area Attack SFX. D8 Physical Stress inflicted removes a D6 from your MASS OF FUR AND TEETH power.

DESIGN NOTES
Squirrel Girl is a Great Lakes Avengers alum. There is a Watcher Datafile for her in the Civil War: 50 State Initiative sourcebook. The conversion from Watcher to Hero datafile was pretty straightforward. I did keep the "activate opportunity" language in the SQUIRRELS! SFX so that she can only activate it on a random event rather than nearly all-the-time. Also, I added Acrobatic Expert and downgraded all her Master-rated specialties to Expert. Nota Bene: She has a literal I Win! button that allows her to end the scene before the Watcher can at 2D10 from the Doom Pool, rather than the standard 2D12. 'Nuff Said!

House Rule: NO-PRIZE

 

NO-PRIZE
Back in the day, Stan Lee would respond to the many conundrums posed to him by mail, by offering a No-Prize to anyone who could resolve it. If successful, they would receive a certificate in the mail for it. Of course, the joke was that a No-Prize was literally, no prize except for a piece of paper. And of course, any bragging rights you might then have within fandom.

No-Prizes in MHRP

    Here is my house rule. At the end of a gaming session, No-Prizes will be awarded to players based on the influence on the gameplay that evening: roleplaying, ingenuity, humor or luck. But here's the catch: these No-Prizes are actually worth something -- 3 XP each. The first is awarded by vote by the players who participated in the session. The second is awarded by the Watcher, according for his own inscrutable reasons. 

    Here are the rules for how No-Prizes work in my game:

           

            PLAYER AWARD

    1. You can't vote for yourself.
    2. No player can receive both the Player and Watcher awards.
    3. Watcher, like the U.S. Vice President, casts the tie-breaking vote.

            WATCHER AWARD

    1. Awarded at the sole discretion of the Watcher.

    DESIGN NOTES
    This version of Star-Lord is pretty straightforward copy of the canonical Star-Lord datafile, with the following exceptions. Chadwick Boseman's Star-Lord is very chill. That is his real super-power as far as I'm concerned. I pretty much based his Distinctions on Black Panther, updated to his new cosmic background. As for his specialties, I put them more in line with the canonical Star-Lord, because that's pretty much T'Challa's background in the current continuum. The major, major change I made was to make him a PSYCH Grandmaster, to reflect how much this Star-Lord leans on his emotional intelligence over his superpowers and fighting ability. And that it really, really works! 'Nuff Said!

    SUPER-NOVA -- NEBULA (Marvel-M65)

    For this Datafile, I blended the Nebula and Nova datafiles. Having four power sets makes her especially formidable. And there is some overlap with the powers, which I thought might be a problem, but I decided against fixing it. And, oh my god!, she's got a lot of specialties. But again, I think I'm OK with that. 'Nuff Said!

    (I noted previously to myself to use Gamorra's Trained By Thanos and Nova's Something to Prove as models for Milestones for her.)

Lean on his strong, silent -type nature and his alien intelligence when playing his motivations. Member of the Agents of Atlas team.

    DESIGN NOTES
    So far, we've seen limited action by Byrdie. But her powers are confirmed so far, and I feel like part of her power / appeal is her unbounded enthusiasm. Hence how I determined which SFX to give her. 'Nuff Said!

    SISTERLY LOVE
    Enhanced Durability D8, Enhanced Reflexes D8, Stretching D6, Guns D8
    SFX -- Full Auto. Against single target, step up or double WEAPON power. Remove the highest-rolling die and use three dice for your total.
    SFX -- Grapple. Add D6 and step up effect die when inflicting GRAPPLED complication on target.
    SFX -- Habit of Many Things: Add D6 to your dice pool and step up your effect die when using your SISTERLY LOVE power set to create assets.
    SFX -- Power of Belief:
    Spend 1 PP to reroll your dice pool.
    SFX -- Virtue of Patience. If your dice pool contains a SISTERLY LOVE power in it, take two dice of equal size and replace them with one stepped-up die.
    Limit -- Moral Exhaustion. Shutdown any SISTERLY LOVE power set to earn 1 PP. 
    Recover it by activating an opportunity or during a Transition Scene.

    SFX: Fowl-Mouthed. Step back the highest die in your action pool to add D6 and step up emotional stress inflicted.
    SFX: Quack Fu. Against a single target, step up or double COMBAT EXPERT stunt die. Remove the highest-rolling die from your action pool and use three dice for your total.
    Limit: Wauugh! Step up your emotional stress inflicted by extra-dimensional or mystical threats to earn 1 PP.

    While I like the idea of Sister Howard, I didn't have much to go on besides this frame. I pretty much had to wing this one. I did consult datafiles for Mister Fantastic and Punisher for some inspiration, though. (Nuns with guns are always pretty cool -- so there's that.)
